"Look, my folks said I had to dress up for Easter, and they had bought me some seasonally-appropriate pastel thing, but then it had to go and be freezing since Easter is so early this year, so I ended up being put in this Christmas-time thing.  ...I don't really want to talk about it."

Dexter -- haha, oh no, he's a boy bunny??  Oh dear.  :P  -- anyway, Dexter the bun is an adorable adoptable who is currently residing with the Sacramento, CA Chapter of the House Rabbit Society.  You can read more about him here!  ...Lol, poor Dexter - the pom-pom on that hat is hysterical.  :P 

"He came!!!"

"Ohmygosh the Easter Bunny brought me a basket!!  He's the best!  *nom nom nom* [nibbles on the basket]  And it's even my favorite flavor!"

[Looks up from nomming] *GASP!*  "There are treats inside the basket too??!!"  *Plop!*  [faints from overwhelming joy]

:P  Thanks, Lisa, for the great pics!  Pumpkin has perfected the bunny loaf!  Hee, so cute!  :D  ...if someone were to hide a bunch of these eggs in my yard, I'd so be knocking all the kids down to get them all!  :P 

Seeking Shelter!

"Soo... sleepies... Just wake me up in a week, k?  Zzzzz..." 

This gorgeous baby needs her rest... her name is Sprout, and she is one of three hundred bunnies rescued by the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA) just last week from an awful, awful rabbit meat farm situation.

Yes, I did Photoshop the pic, because it is fairly graphic... Sprout is recovering from emergency surgery, but luckily, she is apparently doing well in her new foster home now. 

You can read more about her story (yes, there is this one graphic photo), and the story of all of these poor bunnies on the RabbitRescue Canada site, and in an article from the Toronto Sun reporting on the incident.  (This situation is horrendous, but the picture with the article, of the "freshly fluffed baby bunny" will make you smile.  :)  )

How can you help??  Very, very easily, actually!  You can send supplies or money to Rabbit Rescue - directions are on their site.  The greatest way to help would be to offer a foster home -- or even better, a forever home!! -- for one or a few of these bunnies - again, Rabbit Rescue can give you details on how to do that.  But if you live across the world or don't have space in your house, ANY donation will help these poor buns get better.  Even five dollars could buy a lot of hay for bunnies!!  RabbitRescue even accepts PayPal payments.  So please help if you can, these bunnies all deserve a lot of rest and relaxation and happy homes!!

Soo... it's a pretty gross-weather day today over here on the east coast, so I thought I'd post a "comfort" video... just a good ol' bunny-washing-his-face clip.  :)  This cute little lop even looks like he has a bit of "bed-head" with his cute lop-sided head fuzz, hee!  :D 

...Okay, okay, let's just do one more -- a bonus clip of the same bunny washing his ears!  :D  Soo adorable!!

*Yawn!* [Burrows deeper under the covers]  "What is this 'work' thing, anyway?  Is it really that great?  Are you suuure you don't want to stay at home in bed and snuggle with me??"

Gah !!  You're killing us, bun.  Soooo tempting to stay and snuggle!!  But then how would we earn the money to buy you treats??  :P

"Oh, hi.  *urp!*  Uhhh... how was your St. Paddy's day?  Someone dyed the office coffee green??  That's... really weird.  ...My day ?  Well, it was, um... quiet, pretty quiet.  *hic!*  ...Is this like my tenth ?  Oh, no, this is my second beer, I swear..."

Guinness (the black-and-cream bun): "Hey, Oakley - What would you change about the shelter if we win the shelter makeover??"

Oakley (the gray bun): "Well, I think I'd like a three-story playground, made entirely of cardboard, and... um... a 24-hour salad bar with all-you-can-eat veggies would also be nice."

Guinness: "Oh, yeah, those would be pretty cool... I was thinking more along the lines of new all-stainless steel appliances and a wine cellar, what do you think about that?" 

Oakley: "Have you been watching a lot of home-improvement TV again??" 

Guinness: "...Maybe."
