Commentator #1: "Well, Scott, you can see from the looks on Kimi and Hamilton's faces as they go to wait for the scores that they're not entirely happy with that performance..."
Commentator #2: "I think you're right, Kurt, Kimi must be upset that she doubled that final triple axel, and we've been hearing so much about how Hamilton's paw injury has been affecting his landings recently... It was clear that he just didn't have the same control tonight that you normally see from him."
Commentator #1: "That's right, Scott -- not to mention the rumor that the pair switched their music for the long program only a week ago! These two certainly had a lot of challenges coming into tonight's performance..."
Commentator #2: "Definitely a lot of challenges, Kurt... and they've been training so intensely for so many months, this moment has got to be very nerve-wracking..."
Commentator #1: "And here are the scores!! From Russia... a 5.7, that's got to be encouraging... and from France, a 5.5... well, that's not too surprising. From the U.S., a 5.6... From Germany, a 5.6, and from Canada a 5.7! Wow, well there's got to be a lot of mixed emotions going through Kimi and Hamilton's heads right now... with these scores, gold is out of the question, but silver is still a possibility..."
Commentator #2: "And with three more pairs to skate, anything can happen! After this break, we'll see former gold medalists Fuzzman and Fluffina try for another championship!"
[Olympic music!]
:P I've apparently watched a lot of Olympic ice skating, haha -- but don't these pictures remind you of when Olympic athletes go to that blue sitting area after their performances (with flowers from the spectators!) and drink water and cry and talk to their coaches and look all nervous?
These bunnies actually are named Kimi and Hamilton, and are a pair up for adoption with the Great Lakes Rabbit Sanctuary of Michigan! You can read more about them on their Petfinder page here, and more about the sanctuary on their site here! :) (hmm... even their names are skater-like! Even if they weren't named after Kimmie Meissner and Scott Hamilton, it's a pretty good coincidence :P )
