Lou: "What's wrong, Carolyn?"
Carolyn: "Oh, Lou... I just found out how baby carrots are made... and they're not just adorable little carrots that strangely have no tops... They're... they're cut from larger carrots, and then all that extra shaved-off carrot is wasted!!"
Lou: "Wait, what?? Wow, you're right... that is depressing... so unnecessary, so much waste... and I always thought they were so cute!"
Carolyn: *sigh...*
Lou: "...BUT WAIT ! That means that somewhere at a baby carrot factory -- maybe close by! -- tons and tons of carrot shreds are just waiting to be taken away for free!! We must go... we must go now !"
...Yes, that was a sad realization!!
