"Hmmm... I rather like this one... the colors are quite aesthetically pleasing, nice composition... and I do say, what a handsome subject! Certainly best piece in tonight's show."
[Goes off for more wine before re-admiring his portrait]
:) This is Porthos, a handsome man up for adoption with the East Bay Rabbit Rescue in Castro Valley, CA! Apparently he's a really friendly and fun guy... you can read more about him on his Petfinder page here!
AND (as you can see here), he's one of the muses for a totally awesome Bunny Art Show running throughout September at the East Bay SPCA! Tomorrow (Sept. 4, 11AM-4PM) there's a special Art Show/Adoption Event combo there (featuring buns from 5 rescues!), but the art will stay up all month for people checking out the SPCA, in an effort to spread the word to animal adopters about the fabulous world of bunny companionship AND raise funds to help the shelter buns (a portion of the proceeds goes to the SPCA)!
As the shelter says, "Buy a lovely work of art & adopt the bunny too!!!" :D
For more info on the buns and the art, check out this article! Good luck to all the buns!! And rock on, artists :)
Happy Easter! I got you this flower...and only nibbled a couple of them. Um... >_> is it safe to assume that hidden in various places of the house I'm only allowed into while supervised there are hidden many AninaLovens Apple Strudels for me to find?
Hee :) I love this photo. So cute. I found it in a blog post on JSOnline.com. They were discussing the Elmbrook Humane Society's Rabbitopia event. An event on house rabbit care they held during 'adopt a rescued rabbit month' in February. You can read more about it here.
Didn't get to a museum or art gallery this weekend? Had Coke and Cheez-Its instead of Beaujolais and Brie? No worries, just check out this awesome photo here!
I love the slightly magical feel to it... sender-inner and photographer Kaycee Deen explains: "I created this photo for a photo contest
and was kind of embarrassed when I realized that all the other entries
were of humans. No matter - because of that contest, I created a photo
that I absolutely love and wouldn't have, otherwise. The subject, Miss
Nibblesworth ("Nibby"), is our second rescue rabbit, found on 2007's
tax day after someone released her into our neighborhood. (Presumably
when she ceased to be an Easter novelty and the realities of pet ownership began to set in.) The photo's title is She Seemed To Come Suddenly Upon Happiness. A fitting title for the image, but even more fitting for how we met her."
Love it!! Wonderful piece... thanks, Kaycee, for sharing!! :)
