This is very difficult to write. We lost Confucius on Sunday, despite the best efforts of the terrific staff at the MSPCA Angell Memorial Hospital in Boston. We laid him to rest in the garden right outside the room he lived in and beside the porch he loved to visit. It really took our breath away. We loved having him live with us.
And we'll never stop missing this face when we come home every day.
As you may know we adopted Confucius from RabbitMatch in LA about 5 years ago. They took really good care of Confucius and will always have our thanks for helping us meet him.
Confucius always liked to have his space. Field trips to the carpeted living room were one of his favorite activities, along with trips to the porch and the occasional bin of winter snow to play in.
Still he was very charming and affectionate in his own way. Ozzie never stopped trying to be friends and eventually they came to an understanding.
Even the cats (one in the background) were fascinated by him :)
Thanks so much for your kind wishes the last few days. There's still a hole in our hearts but having so many friends helps with coping with this great loss. The Daily Bunny will return. We wouldn't do Confucius justice if we didn't continue to showcase adoptable buns in need of a good home, and we know he would want the internet to continue to be as rabbit-dominated as possible...
We love you, Confucius, and we thank you for all the fuzzy affection, attitude, amusement, and companionship over the years. There will never be another bun like you.
Love, Kate & Jay
